Day 1 of the remodeling

Tuesday, May 1, 2001

There's no turning back now!  On this first day the pool was drained and about one half of the old deck was removed.  The threat of rain prevented any work to start on the roof.  The pile of rubble on the swale in front is about 6 feet across at the base and is more than 5 feet high.  After the water was drained from the pool, with an electric pump, you could see that the original marcite finish was just about all gone.  The pool surface has so many craters and pot marks that it looks like the lunar surface.

You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs.
