Day 3 of the remodeling

Thursday, May 3, 2001

Today the rest of the old pool deck was removed and so was the grass from the area we want to expand the deck into.  The deck prep work is done for now, until the pool tile is set and the new skimmer and vac line are put in. Looks like we are going to have to bring in a load of dirt to fill in around the pool. We picked out the pool tile and scheduled the pool work.  We should have the skimmer and vac line done on Saturday.  The debris pile on the front swale was scheduled to be removed tomorrow. But we had a drunk, riding a bicycle down the street, ride right into it and fall over.  So we had the pile removed today.  The guy must have been riding a bicycle because he was too drunk to walk.  At least he wasn't driving.

The shingles for the roof were also delivered today and the roof work should be finished is a few days.  We also found a company to poison the soil for termites before we pour the slab.   We decided to try and save the grass we took out from around the old deck and transplanted it under the grapefruit tree in the back of the yard.  With a little luck and a lot of water it should catch.  Oh, by the way, right after the debris was loaded and hauled off, it started to rain like mad.  What luck, it helps the grass we transplanted and will pack down the sand around the pool some.
