Day 7 of the remodelingMonday, May 7, 2001 Today dirt was brought in, added to the area around the pool, dampened and compacted 4 times. The framing for the main pad was put up, footers were dug and the #5 steel was laid in the footers. Holes were drilled on the corners of the house pad for steel dowels to be epoxy'd in. This will tie the pad into the house corners. You can the deco drain that will be attached to the house walls setting in place. Robert had to cut some of the step away on the house pad, by the smaller sliding glass door, to permit the deco drain to lie flush to the house. The wall will be smoothed out later. The small pad has yet to be formed and will be a step down from the main deck after we pour 4 more inches on top of it.Tomorrow morning, the soil will be poisoned for termites and we will call for a pre-pour inspection. Also, the roof is to be inspected tomorrow. The cantilever styrofoam forms for the deck pool edge won't be put on the pool tile until just before the concrete in poured. Small pieces were put on the tile today for a short period to allow for height measurments. A light rain would be welcome for tonight to help settle the dirt a little more. We got a little drizzle around dinner time.Click on the thumbnails to see larger images. |
